Artist(s) of the week

Jeff Shore and Jon Fisher

The reason I got interested on these guys’ works was the inventive use of small surveilllance cameras in small closed spaces with miniature elements. Shore & Fisher have used tremendous amount of work to create there pretty complex pieces. Check out the videos from the gallery website to get the idea!

Reel to reel

Very interesting works otherwise but then the pretentious assemblage of electric wires chumps some points and boring on-the-wall installation destroys the ambience that could have been created in different environment.

Artist of the week

Sarah Pickering

Ground burst no. 1

I see these photographic counterparts of Gregory Greens’ installations. Testifyingly brilliant.

New works…

I’m not sure of the order of the pictures thanks to fucking crappy WordPress image uploader.

Artist of the week

Bharti Kher

There’s a lot of people and great deal of diversity and topics, so there is great deal of amazing contemporary artists coming from India. This is one of my favorite ones. You may or may not remember him from some of art magazines.

The Skin Speaks a Language Not Its Own

India is not big supporter of contemporary art so most of the Indian artists have gained their base in the artworld in the Europe or the States. I managed to find one decent (which was pretty fucking good) contemporary art gallery in Mumbai during my short visit there. In NY there is many galleries concentrating on Indian contemporary artists and relations between the Indian and Western art world.

Progress on the paint department..

Progressione bitches!

With the big one. I was working today so I had only four hours to work. But what an efficient work indeed!

And sorry about the quality of the pictures but it’s damn near impossible to get a shot with little bit less shining.

Yesterday…

I didn’t work at all. Just played with this:

Seriously speaking, I was trying to find out how to make this installation idea work. For now there were such heavy obstacles that I really can’t continue with the idea in this form. So now I’m rethinking the concept thorugh and when I find the answer I’lll get back to business with toy car tracks.

Also I made 10 painting frames. Loads of swearing.
