Seriously speaking, I was trying to find out how to make this installation idea work. For now there were such heavy obstacles that I really can’t continue with the idea in this form. So now I’m rethinking the concept thorugh and when I find the answer I’lll get back to business with toy car tracks.
Also I made 10 painting frames. Loads of swearing.
Mourning Costume – documentation

The video is kinda repetitive at times but at least you get the idea.
Fucking piece of shit Youtube! First the video played fine but now it shows “the video is unavailable” – message! Have to see later if the problem would resolve by itself.
Yes, yesterday I was a complete wreck. All I was able to think was “I’m not really this frustrated, angry and anxious – I’m just shit tired!”
I was at my studio trying to figure out how to attach five light boxes together to be hung from the ceiling. But as it’s clear inventevness walks hand in hand with clear mind.
I haven’t been impressed by any art works in a long time. But couple of days ago I came across Mariele Neudeckers work that were pretty impressive. http://www.bthumm.de/www/artists/neudecker/exhibitions.php
It’s good there’s artists whose works aren’t just post-monernistically sarcastic.
For not having updated for a long while. I just have forgotten whole thing. There was a trip to India which took couple of weeks out of my schedule and loads of other work.
I haven’t forgot to document stuff though. So now I’ll update all that stuff from last couple of months.
It’s official. Yesterday I got the keys to my new workroom. Amazingly cheap and good space in an old health center in Tapiola.
Here’s some pics. Notice the working doctors spotlight in the middle of the room.
Just to let you visitors know: right now I’m out of working room and that’s why don’t have any interesting updates. I’ve ben mostly working with my video portfolio (and also paper), despertely trying to find a working room and making grant applications.
I’ll update SOMETHING here pretty soon though.

Published August 27, 2007 Information / Announcement Leave a CommentSorry about tthe lack of progress pictures in a couple of days but i’ve just been busy with all these invitations and press releases. Tomorrow I’ll upload a lot of new pictures.
Here’s the official invitation card to my exhibition “Juhlat vailla aamunkoittoa” (something like “A party without dawn”. The usual invitation card to painting exhibition is just a picture of painting. That’s nice but I wanted to do something little bit different. I wanted to show the material aspect in my paintings and I was lucky I had such a bright sunny day so I got bright light from the side that really shows the thick layers of paint. Anyways, my invitation cards will be oming a bit late so anyone who is checking this workblog will get the info much sooner. I really hate the process of sending invitations and ordering the cards and paying your ass off for all that trouble…but once it’s done, you’re really glad you’ve done it properly. So come to the exhibition if you want to reall these pieces.
Anyways, despite there’s still a lot of work to do, it seems that everything will be ready until the opening day which is 2nd of september. The guys at Kaapelin Galleria aren’t really answering my emails but that’s their problem. I mean, I’ve been trying to ask about the mailing lists by sending emails into two different addresses but tey are not replying. Also their homepage is down, so let’s just hope the gallery is still there when I’m going to start building my exhibition.
And everyone’s welcome to the exhibition of course. There’ll be no entrace fee.
